JACEK SOTOMSKI – composer, performer, born in 1987 in Olsztyn, Poland. Graduate of Music Academy in Wrocław in composition class of Agata Zubel and Cezary Duchnowski.

His works has been performed on international and domestic festivals, such as: World Music Days, Warsaw Autumn, Sacrum Profanum, Young Composers Meeting, Musica Polonica Nova, Adoptions, Festival Licences, Musica Electronica Nova, Cinegogue, Ostrava Music Days, Cinemascope in Australia, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovenia, France and Belarus.

Jacek Sotomski has also participated in projects, workshops and courses with ensembles such as ensemble musikFabrik, ensemble Adapter, orkest de ereprijs, BERG Orchestr in Prague, Spółdzielnia Muzyczna Contemporary Ensemble, Kwartludium, Chamber Orhcestra of Natonial Forum of Music „Leopoldinum” and master courses with Jennifer Walshe, Bernhard Lang, François Sarhan, Rebecca Saunders, Lucia Ronchetti, Peter Ablinger or Cathy van Eck.

Since 2017 he has collaborated with Polish directors and playwrights composing music to theater plays  – among other Katarzyna Szyngiera, Hubert Sulima, Jędrzej Piaskowski, Jacek Jabrzyk and Lena Frankiewicz. Theatre plays that he has composed music to have been performed at prestigious festivals and won prizes in Polish competitions.

He has received scholarships from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, President of Wrocław, President of Toruń, Marshal of Kujavia-Pomerania Voivodeship. In 2018 his stage work CREDOPOL (commissioned by City of Wrocław Department of Culture) was nominated to Coryphaeus of Polish Music in “Discovery of the Year ” category.

With Mikołaj Laskowski he founded duo sultan hagavik and with Aleksandra Gołaj and Rafał Łuc Ensemble Kompopolex.
